Another way to get from the U.S. to the Peninsula started on Wednesday when a new low-cost carrier, Orange Air, began flights from Orlando to Cancun.
Flights depart Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. Rates for a round trip flight start at $318.
“Orange Air is thrilled to be flying out of the Orlando Sanford International Airport where everything is simpler, faster, better,” says Humberto Rivero, Vice President Sales & Marketing for Orange Air LLC. The Sanford airport is smaller and simpler to navigate than the larger Orlando International.
Orange Air touts easy check-in procedures and stretched seating in every row.
Orange Air operates a fleet of MD-80 series aircraft in a configuration of 150 seats.
They also offer service from New Orleans, Branson and Cincinnati to Cancun. The company began operations last year as a chartered service, and is headquartered on the grounds of the Sanford airport.
