Mérida’s international airport welcomed an unexpected and colorful guest from Amsterdam when an Aeromexico wide-body jet headed to Mexico City diverted from its path. The reason was not disclosed.

Aeromexico flight AM26 flies routinely between Amsterdam Schiphol and Mexico City. According to Planespotters.net, the 7-year-old Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is painted in a special Quetzalcoatl pattern, honoring Mexico’s heritage.

The plane stayed for 90 minutes before resuming its path to CDMX. Passengers apparently did not disembark.
