Javier steals show at Evolución media event
Mérida, Yucatán — Evolución A.C., the animal rescue organization, drew quite a media crowd for a press conference today at Villa Verde.
All the major TV stations, including Trecevisión, and several newspapers heard founder and director Silvia Cortés talk about educating families, and especially children, about the importance of showing empathy toward animals, as well as why spaying and neutering is a constant concern.
“Sylvia was confident and wonderful as always. I love that woman — Santa Sylvia!” said Michael Berton, one of the guest house’s proprietors.
Evolución runs a major spay and neuter clinic every year.
One of Villa Verde‘s resident pets, Javier, stole the show. All the camera people fell in love with the rescue dog, especially after Sylvia recounted the story of how Javier was rescued after being found in a pile of trash, Berton reported.
Watch for coverage of Evolución on the local TV news today, and the in the local newspapers tomorrow.
