Limp Bizkit suddenly cancels Mérida show
Mérida, Yucatán — The U.S. rap-rock band Limp Bizkit was scheduled to perform at the Coliseo Yucatán tomorrow. But that and all its other Mexican dates have been postponed.
Mérida was to be the first of five cities on a November-December tour that would head north to Tijuana.
The reason for the change is unclear. Organizers said the cancellation was requested by the Mexican promoters who asked to move the dates of the concerts to sometime in 2017.
Fans learned of the news via Facebook:
“Bizkit news !!!! Our promoter in Mexico has requested to cancel the tour and move to another date in 2017!
Please see the attached information on the return of your money.
Do not worry, we ‘ll come to see you very soon, no matter what !!! “
Limp Bizkit originated in Jacksonville, Fla., in 1994. Fred Durst is lead vocalist while Wes Borland, who favors body paint, masks and costumes, looms large in the band’s elaborate live shows.
The band has been nominated for three Grammy Awards and has sold 40 million records worldwide.
