Mérida – Dallas flights up 40% this winter

American Airlines’ winter Mexico push includes a 40% increase in flights to Mérida.

American announced expanded services on nine routes between Dallas / Fort Worth and Mexico for the 2023/2024 winter season. That adds up to 50 daily flights across 24 destinations.

Mérida flights will increase by 40%, from five to seven weekly flights on an Airbus A319 aircraft, reports Aviacionline. AA already flies daily to Miami, so passengers have more options when seeking connections to Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport, Mérida’s international airport.

Dallas / Fort Worth is considered Texas’ primary airport. Alternately, United Airlines connects Houston and Mérida daily.

At American’s No. 1 Mexican destination, Cancún flights will jump 49 to 57 weekly flights. A wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will be engaged on certain flights.

Service to Cozumel will grow from eight flights a week to twice daily on Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft.

More flights also land in Huatulco, rising from one weekly flight to five.

Service to Acapulco will triple from one weekly flight to three, with nonstop connections operated by American Eagle on Embraer 175 aircraft.
