Rieleros takes revenge and tie series with Leones

Marc Flores hits a two-run home run in the fifth inning against the Rieleros de Aguascalientes on Wednesday.

Aguascalientes, Ags. — A two-run triple in the fourth inning sealed the Leones’ fate when they fell to the Rieleros de Aguascalientes 14-3 on Wednesday.

The triple by Tito Polo came in the midst of a five-run inning and gave the Rieleros a 4-3 lead. Richy Pedroza hit a two-run home run later in the inning.

The Rieleros later scored four runs in the fifth and seventh innings to complete the blowout. In the fifth, Marc Flores hit a two-run home run, while Polo hit a two-run home run in the seventh.

Francisco Del Rosario (4-5) got the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief while Yucatan starter Miguel Pena (1-5) took the loss in the Mexican League game.

The deciding game of the series at Parque Alberto Romo Chavez Park will be 7:30 tonight. The star Yoanner Negrín (6-3, 2.73 ERA) will take the mound to face Nestor Molina (3-6, 5.57 ERA ). The battle can be followed live in Yucatan on La Comadre 98.5-FM and anywhere on Internetv.
