Uber removes face mask requirements for passengers in Mexico

The ride-share company Uber has lifted face mask requirements for passengers in Mexico.

The front seat of the car is also once again available for passengers if the back seat is filled, Uber said in a notice to customers.

Local regulations could supersede the policy change, Uber said.

Wearing a face mask “may be recommended” under particular personal or family health circumstances, the company said.

“It is still important that you take safety precautions while traveling. Therefore, we recommend that you lower the windows so that the air can flow, disinfect your hands before and after the trip, and always cover yourself when coughing or sneezing,” according to the announcement.
