Uptown Mérida hotel will be a Hilton

Mérida, Yucatán — Hilton announced the signing of three agreements with Hotels Parks Hospitality Management, one confirming a new Hilton Garden Inn in Mérida.
The announcement puts an end to the mystery over which hotel will occupy the tower taking shape over the Uptown Mérida shopping complex.

Hilton Garden Inn Mérida is expected to open in the third quarter of 2018. It will have 128 rooms and accompany a TGI Fridays, Walmart Supercenter, Cinemex Cinema Theatre complex, Starbucks and other shops. Uptown Méridawill be located in the Altabrisa in the city’s north, close to Plaza Altabrisa, which is one of the largest shopping malls in the city.

Already boasting a portfolio of 45 properties in Mexico, Hilton’s footprint is expanding across the country, with approximately 10 new hotels opening in the last year. Thirty more projects are in development across Latin America, said Juan Corvinos, Hilton’s development director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
The other two hotels announced this week are Guadalajara Midtown Hilton and Hampton Inn by Hilton Cancún.
The 134-room Cancun hotel is scheduled to open during the third quarter of 2018 in the Summit Pavilion area.
