The talented dancer Daniel Moo Vázquez dreams of taking his talent from Yucatán to the world.
At just 12 years old, Daniel was selected to represent Mexico at the World Tap Championship in Prague in October of this year. To achieve this, he organized an online fundraiser with the support of the community to help cover the costs of his trip and the creation of two choreographies.
Originally from Mérida, Daniel has been studying dance since the age of 5 and currently dances ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance, although his greatest passion is tap.
For 37 years, the World Tap Championship, organized by the International Dance Organization (IDO), has brought together the most outstanding dancers from around the world. Representatives from Mexico have participated since 2017, even winning the overall championship. The competition rewards not only the excellence of the most experienced dancers but also the dedication, talent, and passion of young people.

This trip also represents a life experience. Daniel shares that this would be his first opportunity to see new horizons outside the country and also his first time traveling by plane. He dreams of sharing it with one of the most important people in his life: “Every step I have taken in the world of tap has been thanks to the love and unconditional support of my mom, who I wish could accompany me on this trip.”
The goal of his fundraiser is to cover the flights to Prague, accommodation, registration for the event and workshops, and the creation of two choreographies, costumes, and shoes, which are estimated to exceed 100,000 Mexican pesos.
