Mérida residents 30 to 39 are next in line for coronavirus vaccinations starting Tuesday.
A recent shipment of 109,600 doses has been allocated to the age group.
Residents should register online to receive an appointment. Once at the assigned vaccination center, they should carry their Unique Population Registration Code (CURP). Appointments are urged to avoid crowding.
The eight vaccination centers will be open from 8 a.m to 6 p.m.
Vaccinations will be delivered by the month of birth, starting on Tuesday with people who were born between January and February. Wednesday will be reserved for those born between March and April, and so on.
Vaccinations in Yucatán began with front-line medical staff and elderly citizens in rural areas. Gradually, the campaign made its way to Mérida and covered residents as young as 40.
The shots are free to all residents, including foreigners, who should bring ID and a utility bill confirming a corresponding street address.
As of Monday morning, more than 1.2 million doses of vaccine have reached Yucatán. The state would require around 4 million doses to fully inoculate the state’s population of roughly 2 million.
