Mérida, Yucatán — Ahead of AANY’s Arte a Mano fair in December, an exhibit called ¨Yo Soy AANY” is on view at Altabrisa Mall, near Starbucks, through Oct. 4.

On display is a selection of work by 15 craft artists in various media representing the range and quality of work that is associated with Arte a Mano. The fair returns to CANACO’s headquarters in Garcia Gineres Dec. 2-4.

AANY representatives and artists are on hand to talk with the public about the work, achievements and goals of the organization. Additionally, several videos can be seen that focus on individual artists and previous shows.

AANY, an acronym for Amigos de los Artistas/Artesanos Nuevos de Yucatán, is a nonprofit dedicated to the marketing and promotion of fine handcraft of the three states of the Yucatán Peninsula: Yucatán, Quintana Roo and Campeche.

The organization was founded eight years ago and has sponsored 13 exhibits featuring artisans. In 2015 over 80 artists participated in the Arte a Mano fair.

Artists participate by invitation from the AANY committee, which considers originality, execution and interesting use of materials. Painting and photography are not included in the selection of artists.

CANACO is on Avenida Itzaes at Calle 31, three blocks south of Clinica de Mérida.
