The Merida office of the federal consumer protection agency has shut its doors until next Friday, Aug. 17, after confirming an employee had contracted the coronavirus.
Profeco, the agency’s acronym in Spanish, is following an established protocol in shuttering its doors on Calle 49 between 54 and 56 in the Santa Ana neighborhood.
The employee is in stable condition hand under medical care, and those who were in contact with the unnamed person are also under quarantine, local media reported.
Hearings and other appointments will be rescheduled, Profeco said. Their phone numbers still work at 555-568-8722 and 800-468-8722.
